Dick holds a B.M. degree in Piano Performance from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, a M.M. degree in Music Performance from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, and a Doctorate of Musical Arts degree in piano from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
